Math Skillz- Converting Percentages, Decimals, Fractions, Ratios
My Reflection
I was learning to convert the percentages, decimals, fractions and ratios with the puzzle pieces. I found this easy ish because I knew most of the conversions ( I learnt them on Mathletics.) My next step is to learn more complex conversions.

Term 2 Week 2 Diary Posts
Term 2 Week 2
Over the past few days in Room 20, we have been doing something called the solar system challenge for our inquiry. It's basically where in a slide show there is some challenges and you have to complete them. But I guess you get to know some facts while completing the challenge.
There is one challenge where you have to write ten facts about a planet, ( not earth) and present it in a interesting way. Another challenge was you have to write an alphabet that relates to the solar system.
There was one challenge where you had to compare two planets, using a Venn Diagram. If you don't know what a Venn Diagram is, it's basically two circles that overlap and it is a tool to use to compare things. I compared mine with Saturn and Neptune.
There was another challenge where you had to draw a diagram of the solar system and anything else you wanted to include. You could do it online or offline.
The last challenge was that there was and image that had everyday objects, to replace the planets so we would how big the planets are. The challenge bit of it was that we had to get an everyday object to replace the sun.

Persuasive Techniques In Commercials
My Reflection
I was learning how to use persuasive techniques.
The task was that you had to make a commercial about something to make our holidays more interesting. We also had to make it appeal to our parents so they get persuaded. The persuasive techniques were:
- Slogan - a catchy catch phrase
- Repetition- when you repeat the important bits in the commercial over and over again.
- Testimonial- when it's basically a happy customer review.
- Emotional Appeal- where the commercial makes you really emotional!
- Bandwagon- Fear of missing out
- Expert Opinion- Where there is a "expert" saying the product is good.

Term 1 Week 10
Term 1 Week 10
Over the last few weeks, Room 20 have been doing heaps of things. One thing was that back in Easter, the Year 6 team has done a Easter egg hunt of the whole school! At the auditorium Mrs Adamson explained how it worked. So basically you have a sheet of paper and have to get in a group of four. A teacher would give you a clue that has a number on it. Then you would figure out the clue and find the place where you think the clue relates to. When you reach the place, you would have to to find a piece of gold egg shaped paper. On the gold piece of paper there is a letter. You write the letter down of the sheet of paper. Now sometimes they give you a sentence clue or a picture clue. I reckon the picture clue would be the hardest because it would be hard to find the exact place of it. Then after you have done all the clues, you would have to use the letters to make it in a phrase. Then when you have worked out the phrase, you would have to go over to Mrs Graham to tell her the phrase! So basically that's what we did.
